Alamo Ranch is on the northwest side of San Antonio where highway 151 and 1604 intersect. Alamo Ranch backs up to the renowned Texas Hill Country, but is also a direct shot to downtown San Antonio. It is hard to imagine a location that has shopping, master plan communities, access to downtown and the Hill Country, proximity to Lackland AFB and Sea World would be out there, but here it is.
Alamo Ranch falls within the Northside Independent School District. The NISD has 81 elementary schools, 21 middle schools and 12 high schools, 8 of which are magnet schools. NISD has over 100,000 students, and the high schools servicing Alamo Ranch William J. Brennan and Harlan High School.
Alamo Ranch touches both Sea World San Antonio and beautiful out wilderness of the Texas Hill Country. There are also two golf courses in close proximity, Briggs Ranch Golf Club and Golf Club San Antonio. To the direct north is the outdoor area of Government Canyon State Natural Area, home to miles of hiking trails. For military members, Alamo Ranch is within 5 miles of Lackland Air Force Base, the gateway to the Air Force.
Alamo Ranch is known for its shopping. Whether you are looking for a high-end boutique store or access to groceries and department stores, you will find it here. Dining options include the full spectrum including anything from high end fine dining to common chain restaurants. Also a short distance is Medina Lake, an outdoor area swimming spot to help cool off during the hot summer months.
